We know that choosing a college and finding the right school can be quite a challenge these days. There are so many different great universities to explore and consider, and that process may be a bit overwhelming, especially if you don’t have the time or money to drive around to every campus. And even if you do have the time and money to visit all the schools you’re considering, you still may not get a true feel for what life is really like when you’re a student there for several years.

CampusDiscovery.com was started to help students like you solve that problem. Our goal is to collect the “inside scoop” on over 1,400 colleges across the country. Why so many colleges? Because we identified and included all of the schools that account for 99% of all full-time undergraduate students enrolled at residential colleges and universities in the country. And because we want to go beyond the top 200 or 300 schools which all the other sites and books focus on. There are hundreds of great schools to choose from, and we want to help you find the one that’s right for you!

But before we can share the inside scoop with college bound students, we have to hear from those who know the schools we’re researching best: currently enrolled students and recent grads. So, we developed a fun little survey and we’re inviting survey participants to answer questions on a bunch of important topics, like:

Academics, teaching and workload
Diversity, politics, and religion
Dorms, food and recreation facilities
Location, campus setting, and extra-curricular activities
Satisfaction, career placement, and administrative support

And to say “thank you” to our survey participants from schools across the nation, we’ll be giving away one $10,000 scholarship in 2009 to help pay for college or repay student loans. About Your School

During our initial research phase, we are collecting information about colleges and universities throughout the nation. Our fun and interactive CampusDiscovery.com survey has been up and running since the summer of 2008, and we are quickly gathering opinions and answers from current undergraduate students and recent grads. Once we have received a sufficient number of responses, our team will compile and analyze the survey answers. We plan to have school results available in the summer of 2009, so students will be able to visit this page to look up information about the colleges they are exploring.

About Us

Once upon a time, a group of marketing professionals was trying to understand more about how parents and students feel about paying for college and they learned a lot about how complex and stressful the entire process of college planning and admissions can be.

One thing led to another, and they soon realized that there was a definite need for helpful and well-researched college planning advice. On September 1, 2007, that group of marketers started working full time on new ways to help families trying to navigate the long and winding road to college.

CampusDiscovery.com is the first fruit of all that research. The goal of the website is to collect ratings and advice from several students at each college, then turn that data into useful information to help prospective students find the schools that are right for them. While other sites all focus on the same 200 or 300 well-known schools, CampusDiscovery.com will provide helpful information on over 1,400 residential colleges and universities in the country. That way, everyone will have the chance to “try” before they “buy.”

The first step toward this vision is to collect the data, and CampusDiscovery.com went live on July 21, 2008 to do just that. If all goes according to plan, the team will be ready to begin sharing the results with prospective students by the summer of 2009.
